We, the undersigned, call on Walsall Council’s Reform Cabinet to remove the Birch Lane site from the emerging Local Plan and protect it from development.

Walsall Council’s own Planning Officers have concluded that Birch Lane is Green Belt, not Grey Belt. We believe this site should therefore be removed from the Local Plan and safeguarded for future generations.

Our Green Belt is vital to the character of Aldridge North and Walsall Wood. It provides important habitats for wildlife, protects the identity of our communities, and gives local families access to valued open spaces.

We urge the Reform Cabinet to listen to local residents, follow the professional advice of its Planning Officers, remove Birch Lane from the Local Plan, and reaffirm its commitment to protecting our precious Green Belt.
